Jordan, a National Sales manager for a ready to wear brand is currently full time travelling the world on her honeymoon so we caught up with her to relive her big day!

From the mountain backdrop to walking down the aisle to John Mayor we wanted to find out everything about Jordan's unique wedding in Canada. Keep reading to find out what was the most important part of Jordan and Reggie's special day.

How and when did you meet?

We were both living in NYC, we were on tinder in the beginning of tinder days, It was a Sunday in the Summer and we coincidentally ended up both being at Le Bain at the Standard Hotel at the same time.  Despite us being able to see each other, He wouldn’t come up and talk to me (we hadn’t met before).  I left with a friend and he messaged me right away to meet at a local bar near my place and his office. As strange as I thought it was, I agreed.  It was apparent he had been drinking all day, but he was endearing and let’s be honest attractive.  We let him come back to our place to hang and he proceeded to break 3 glasses in my kitchen haha. Great first impression.

How and when did you get engaged?

He proposed to me on our very last day in NYC, We were heading off to travel the world together and were giving up our place to do so.  He took me to the same park we picnicked at on our first date which became the same park where he told me he loved me for the first time.

He had tried to propose the night before and had a party planned afterwards and everything but I had gotten sick after a farewell dinner and drinks with friends, I was a terrible person and forced him to let me go to bed, poor guy I had no idea haha!

Wedding dress designer: Lola Varma

Fabric / description: silk, two toned, slip dress - The Lucien gown

Where did you find your wedding dress: LOHO Bride in Los Angeles

What was your experience in searching for your dress? It was great! My sister took me around in London for a day and then I didn’t look again until LOHO.  Both experiences were lovely, it’s fun to play dress up!

How did you know it was THE dress? Honestly… I just felt COOL.  I always thought I would go with dramatic low back but this dress just did it for me!

What other accessories did you wear? (shoes, veil, jewelry etc?) Did they have any special significance?  I threw on a lack of colors hat after the ceremony

What were the décor details at the Ceremony?  Was anything particularly important / traditional / symbolic?  None, it was simple and focused on us, our wedding party and the stunning backdrop of Mt. Currie!

Reception décor?  Hand fans that were cut outs of both of our faces, glow sticks, a polaroid guest sign in book, parasol umbrellas and some light up signs, pennant banners and more!

Did you make (DIY) any of the décor / elements of the wedding?  Our family friend is the owner of Howe Sound Brewing Co and made us some awesome personalized growlers with a picture of us on them.  Our guests drank them on the dance floor and took them home as well, they were a big hit!  Other than that I handpicked all the décor and put together my dream vision for the welcome table and party table myself.  I also purchase a few felt board for all of our signage!

Why did you pick these venues? What drew you to them? What did you love about them? My husband is from Vancouver and grew up going to Whistler every weekend. We choose the venue because of the farm to table menu and the stunning backdrop of Mt. Currie!

Thoughts from your husband when he first say you in the dress? His smile and laughter said it all.

What advice would you give to brides in search of their dress?  Try on all different dresses… you never know!  But most importantly make sure you’re comfortable!

What was your menu like? Any specialities? How did you choose the menu?  Farm to table, My husband works in food so the menu was probably the most important thing to us.  That’s a HUGE reason why we went with North Arm Farm.  For the mains we had chicken and salmon, With sides like roasted carrots in a beet top pesto and a tomato beet salad. We also had a ridiculous harvest table full of meats and cheeses, along with homemade butter and bread. It was all delicious.

Any signature drinks?  Pemberton Blueberry Lavender Gin Fizz (local pemberton gin from the valley)

What entertainment did you have?  My brother-in-law Joe was our MC and absolutely crushed it.  He’s from NZ so his accent always wins.  Our friend Galen is a very talented DJ and we are still hearing today how good he was from guests.

First dance? Elton John, “Our Song”

Wedding cake details: I opted no on the wedding cake and went with homemade ice cream and fresh fruit from the farm. It was perfect.  I’m an ice cream addict and this was a the #1 thing I wanted :-)

What did the brides maids wear? How and why did you choose what you did?  All different dresses, all different shades of nude, champagne, beige and pale pink.  I pushed them in the right direction showing them dresses I liked, some bought a dress I had sent and some bought a dress similar to it.  They all have great taste so I loved letting them choose what they wanted!

What are your three most memorable memories of the day?  #1 Our best friend Matt Marrying us, he had asked us both questions separately before the wedding and worked them into what he said.  It was beautiful, we were all 3 so emotional haha.  #2 My father daughter dance with my dad, I’ve never laughed so hard in my life!  #3 Watching everyone on the dance floor having the absolute best time.  It was like an out of body experience I’m biased but our dance party was a 10/10.
