Viktor & Rolf are an absolute favourite of ours here at The Dress Tribe. The avant-garde fashion brand has a diverse range of silhouettes from beautiful ballgowns to gorgeous jumpsuits. What more could you want? Their bridal line pushes the boundaries of bridal fashion and we are here for it!

Their new 2021 collection has us spellbound … WOW and makes us even more excited for future brides and their amazing ceremonies. (especially post Covid!) They have used softer and freer silhouettes and included draping and unstructured lines as well as adding drama using decorative and beautiful bows… a trend we are sure to see more of this year. This isn’t the typical norm for Viktor & Rolf whose signature pieces usually involve more structured lines such as ball skirts and folded ruffles. But who doesn’t love a change? We certainly do! Especially one as breath taking as this.

Below are some of our favourite bow dresses by Viktor & Rolf, we hope you love them as much as us!

Dramatic Bow Back Column

We saw a glimpse of the bow trend back in 2019 in Viktor & Rolf’s spring/summer collection. This modern, strapless gown is an amazing feature to the trend with its dramatic draped bow detailing it is not for the faint hearted! The jaw dropping dress also has a hidden slit at the front to give a subtle reveal.

Bow Back Crystal Gown

Another dress that follows the ‘business in the front, part in the back’ design is this silk Mikado dress from V&R’s fall/winter 2019 collection. With a high neck front and a plunging open back giving way to a dramatic bow detailing. Oh and of course the dress is completely covered in degrade crystals … not so business after all!

Cascading Back Volant Bow Dress

The ‘bow back’ continues to be a running theme in the Viktor & Rolf collections and we adore it! It is a great way to show how simplicity can be beautiful in the front and that its ok to add a little something extra in the back. This gown is absolutely stunning, the large bow gives way to a layered tulle train which compliments the beautiful, fitted silhouette.

Bow Spine Fit and Flare

This halter neck gown is sophisticated as well as elegant and features an intricate bow spine detail across an open back. This stunning piece is made of Japanese crepe and is perfect if you are looking to make a subtle statement down the aisle. A great feature to their 2021 collection.

Sculptural Tiered Gown

Or maybe you would like to make a not-so-subtle statement with the sculptural tiered gown. The A line gown features a constructed skirt crafted out of voluminous tiers and is attached to a signature bow on the nape of the neck. How majestic.

Dramatic Bow Mermaid

Add drama to your day in the best way with this mermaid gown, featuring a sweetheart bodice that drapes down into an over sized dramatic bow. What a way to make a statement! We couldn’t think of a better way to still look chic and sexy but also go the extra mile.

Graphic Broiderie Anglais Column

Another amazing attribute to the spring/summer 2021 collection is this fitted column dress. The satin gown has graphic shoulder straps which are embellished with signature bow detailing. The clean silhouette is enriched with laser cut motif, the long slit at the back will catch interest as you walk. This dress is perfect if you are looking for a more classic look.

Royal Bow Taffeta Gown

The bow trend did not stop at summer for Viktor & Rolf as this beautiful gown is fresh from their fall/winter 2021 collection. The dress is made from and Eco friendly taffeta and has an off the shoulder neckline, the bows feature through the piece on both the front and back of the sleeves and draping down the back of the dress.

We hope you love the dresses as much as we do, we cannot wait to see what else the bow dress trend brings for the rest of 2021, this is just a small selection of some of the amazing pieces by Viktor & Rolf.
